Nick Hilverda and his brigade of volunteer firefighters, or “firies,” have been battling the Australian bushfire blazes since the beginning of September 2019.  Nick is the father-in-law of Ravinia Brewing co-founder and native Australian, Andrew Devlin.  Unfortunately, much of Nick's property in northern New South Wales was destroyed in the fires.  Today, we honor the many men and women like Nick who have put their own lives on the line to save their homes, their towns, their native wildlife, and their country from the unprecedented bush fires sweeping across the country.  It is on their backs that we have created our most important beer to date - "Source of Truth." 

Despite the distance between our two countries, the destruction of so much of Australia's natural habitat hit many of us hard.  As our population grows and the demand on our natural resources pushes beyond sustainable levels, the resulting impact on our climate is unmistakable.  The Australian bushfires are a clear Source of this Truth.  Droughts.  Unprecedented storms.  Rising water levels.  All evidence that our world needs us to take notice and act.  A portion of all proceeds from Source of Truth will be donated to help those impacted in Australia.  This is personal for us. We hope that our efforts will be matched by others, and that each of us in our small way can make a difference.
